through the ugly industrial area of LA and Long Beach. The area is
home to many an oil refinery and the roads are heavy with traffic,
potholes and glass ( not pretty)! After 25 miles I was back to the
beach at Seal Beach. I had a hardy breakfast and a great walk on the
pier, watching the lifeguards jump off the 40 ft high pier into the
surf below and swim to shore Miles seemed to fly by so I took a side
trip to Balboa Island and walked the canals and the sampled the local
favorite - chocolate covered frozen bananas! -- Yummm.
Stayed a on the beach trail to enjoy the flat ride to San Clemente for
my stay with Suzanne and Martin Scwartz and their wonderful kids.
Katie ( the youngest of the three) hung with us all night through
diner at the pier and wine at the marine - she was a joy to talk and
be with. Will ( 2nd oldest) had a 70's rolling skating party and it
was fun to see him at the rink with the other kids -ALL GIRLS. He
said he did not know how to roller skate but he seemed to be a quick
learner! Ellie (queen bee of the hive) - freshman to be in highschool
was busy getting ready for the big first day of high school.
Jeff playing with fierce Schwartz guard dog- as you can see I need a
haircut!
