THE BIG DAY HAS ARRIVED

Liz and Jason (future Son in Law) came in to wish me well and we reviewed the route south of San Fransico where they live.
Jessica on course had to model the Harley head wear that Liz and Jason bought me for the ride.

I finished packing and final purchases today, including a NEW REAR RIM! As I was cleaning the bike I noticed small fractures in the rim where the spoke nipple joins the rim. It has delayed me a day, but most likely saved me from being stranded in the middle of nowhere with a "split rim". I have to give Kudos to Bike Gallery for building me a new wheel in less than 5 hours! Everywhere else said no can do for at least a week.




I head out August 9th at 5:30 am, with a ride from my buddy Phil Oester, for a start at 10:00am in Port Townsend. I'll try to update the blog daily and I also fixed some blog settings to allow all to comment. SO BE NICE!!
